The World Tarot Card Meaning: Upright, Reversed, Love & Yes or No

The World tarot card means completion, fulfilment and a cycle successfully closed. Upright, you reach a goal, feel whole and are ready for the next big chapter. Reversed, something is nearly finished but not quite: loose ends, delays or a fear of closing the circle.

The World upright meaning

A dancer floats inside a wreath of laurel, holding two wands, with the four creatures of the Wheel of Fortune in each corner. She has travelled the whole journey of the Major Arcana. The World celebrates achievement: a degree, a wedding, a finished project, a dream reached. Enjoy it, then get ready for a new cycle on a higher level.

The World reversed meaning

Reversed, The World shows a goal almost reached but stuck at the last step. Something needs finishing, a lesson needs completing, or you need closure before you can move on. Look for the shortcut you are taking or the ending you are avoiding.

The World in love

In love, The World shows a fulfilling, mature relationship, a big milestone such as moving in or marriage, or meeting someone who feels like home. It can also point to love from abroad. Reversed, the relationship needs closure or a final commitment.

The World for career and money

At work, The World brings completion, recognition and sometimes international opportunities. With money, it shows goals reached and financial stability.

Is The World a yes or no card?

The World is a strong yes. Reversed, it is “yes, after you finish what is still open.”
